Nainital - Abode of Goddess Naina
The lake of Nainital has facilities for boating, yachting, paddle boating and rowing. One can also enjoy horse riding in the lush green hilly terrain covered with Deodar, Oak Surai and many other variety of trees.

Naina Peak is the highest peak of Nainital. It is approximately 2610 meter and from this hilltop, on A clear day, one can have a finest view of a large part of Himalayan range and also a bird’s eye view of Nainital Lake.

Dorothy’s Seat is at a height of 2292 meters and believed to be a memorial to an English lady killed in air crash. The place commands a sectional view of the town and nearby region.

From Land’s end one can have a beautiful view of Khurpatal which is a paradise on the earth. The lake inhibits a large variety of fishes. It is nearly 5 km from Nainital.

Observatory, devoted to astronomical studies and tracking artificial satellites, the Observatory is situated 4.5 km from the city at a height of 1951 meters.
STATE OBSERVATORY
There is a place with cluster of houses given to Tibetans and a seat for them next to Dharamsala. They have been allotted shops near flats selling all kind of ready made garments and gift items doing brisk business in season. They have become an integral part of the city now.
