First of all heartily congratulations to Pratibha Naitthani for her victory against Vulgarity.
December 22- 2005 - The Uttarakhandi lady basically from Pauri Garhwal has won the case against Vulgarity and Violence in Bombay high Court.
Pratibha Naitthani who basically belongs to Uttarakhand ( Pauri Garhwal) the daughter of famous Prof Mr. Shahi Shekar naitthani who infact gave birth to Hindi department which started at the most popular college of Mumbai St. Xavier’s. Pratibha a lecturer of political science at St Xavier’s College, who filed a public interest litigation with the Mumbai High Court against Violence and vulgar TV programming.
Pratibha Naitthani, a dynamic Personality is a lecturer in St Xavier’s College Mumbai
She has a very strong opinion against Vulgarity, which made her filed a case against content displayed on small screen (Television) PIL (Public Interest litigation).
Her continues efforts result in Sept 2004, High court issued an order to Channels on small screen to permit to show films only certified from censor board.
Further to that in Nov-2005, Union government informed Court, about taking an action against the violence broadcasted by the TV Channels who violate downlinking rules
Finally in December 2005- High Court has banned all adult content, nudity , Vulgarity and violence on cable TV.
Patibha Naitthani has successfully completed her mission by winning this case,
In a landmark order, the Bombay high court has banned the screening of films on cable television that do not have a U certificate from the censor board are off television screens.
My campaign is not only against nudity; it is against the Adult content, which includes both Violence and vulgarity, my whole effort is to make media safe for children and to get the law of the land implemented. The law says no Adult content on TV because we need to be sensitive to the sensibility of all the viewers including children. Says dynamic Uttarakhandi lady PRATIBA NAITTHANI.
As well as she is doing lots of Social activities in Uttarakhand.
